Duo train women in personal defense
March 20, 2010 12:19 PMTHE GAZETTETeri Goodall and Patty Fowler retired from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in 2007 — but the two are still working to keep residents safe.
Goodall and Fowler are the founders and operators of Fighting Chance for Women, which they started last fall to offer affordable self-defense classes for women.
They have 52 years of law enforcement experience between the two of them. Goodall was Sheriff Terry Maketa’s undersheriff when she retired; Fowler was a deputy sheriff.

Nurses--Take Notice
I am a nurse and took this class because I work shifts and often leave the hospital by myself and it is always dark out when I leave. I never knew how many things I did not pay attention to until I went to this class. If you are out by yourself at night, home by yourself, take this class. It will be the best money spent. I wish every woman could take this class.

Training: Our own Patty Fowler and Teri Goodall have created a new class, "Fighting Chance for Women." This is a 3 hour class to help women avoid becoming a victim of crime and train women how to react if they are attacked. It will cover awareness and risk assessment; avoidance; escape and evasion ideas; and self defense moves. Patty and Teri have more than fifty years of combined law enforcement experience. Class is 35$ per person.
